Sounds of Pittsburgh Chorus wins third prize at international competition
Pittsburgh, PA - December 23, 2016
The Sounds of Pittsburgh Chorus has captured third prize in an international competition in Las Vegas. For the women’s a cappella group, the prize at the Sweet Adelines International 2016 Harmony Classic AA Division Invitational brings “a medal, the recognition, and the opportunity to perform in what is considered an international competition, which for our craft is a big deal,” said Lois Treloar, a member of the chorus and its board.

Local Sweet Adelines quartet wins international championship
Kirkland, WA - December 15, 2016
The Kirkland-based Frenzy Quartet won the title of 2017 International Quartet Champions at the Sweet Adelines International Competition held in Las Vegas. The win is the first for a Seattle-area quartet since 1962. The win is six years in the making for the group, which formed in 2010. The a cappella quartet has gone through some personnel changes over the years, but the current lineup of Kirkland lead singer Nikki Blackmer, Bothell tenor Melissa Pope, Burien bass Judy Pozsgay and Langley, B.C. baritone Anne Downton has been in place since 2013.
